Tom, Forget about transition to Rails - it is already an [half-working] ActionPack application that needs as much attention as it can get. You must be somewhat pissed off at David for neglecting the project and the community around it, but now the situation has changed. I've been reading Soks sources tonight, and wishig I can convince you to start contributing to Instiki again. :) Take the problem of flat file storage. If Instiki could have a pair of scripts to export/import to/from flat files, this would solve the 90% of the problem with Madeleine binary format. You could do bulk edits in the Wiki as PIM scenario, and you could have it on cron (backup) in Wiki as interactive web site scenario. Then, I like some of the usability tweaks in Soks (such as diff of the last revision in the edit page) and will be shamelessly ripping them to Instiki. And I am going to make a navbar more lively (like you suggested in one of those unapplied patches). And so on. So..., how about building one great wiki instead of two so-so ones? Best regards, Alex
