Yesterday (23 Jul 2005), I pulled down the lastest CVS tarball using the link on this site. When I went to untar it with GNU tar version 1.14, it said things like,
tar: soks/bin: implausibly old time stamp 1969-12-31 19:00:00 tar: soks/contrib/diff/lcs: implausibly old time stamp 1969-12-31 19:00:00 tar: soks/contrib/diff: implausibly old time stamp 1969-12-31 19:00:00 tar: soks/contrib: implausibly old time stamp 1969-12-31 19:00:00 tar: soks/lib/helpers: implausibly old time stamp 1969-12-31 19:00:00 [...]
but everything seems to have been extracted.

Similar results when downloading the tarball from other rubyforge projets, so a fault at their end I think. I have filed a bug with them here. —tamc
