Fixed Bug: Do not save and delete links confusing on edit page

From Bil Kleb:

FWIW, another piece of input:

My officemate, Bill Wood, was confused by the things at the bottom of context text window on the edit view:

[Submit] (Do not Save) or (Delete) this page.

The [submit] is a form button while the other two are parenthetical links.

He said that he was initially confused as to what the parenthetical links were supposed to mean. For instance, he thought they were somehow explaining the [submit] button.

In his mind, if they could all be rendered as buttons or all rendered as links^1, their intent and function would have been clearer to him.

Maybe you’re in the middle of an update regarding this, but I am getting the following odd line breaks w.r.t the buttons:

P.S. How do I put a border around the image?—Bil (Have a look at the code… tamc) Ah, I only had tried {border:1px} before. —Bil

Getting better, but I’m still seeing an odd line break right after the [Save Changes] button no matter how wide I size my browser window:

What about removing the accompanying text Would you like to .. , .. or and just putting the three buttons in a table that is 100% wide? Or then again, maybe the end of the form is causing the line break?—Bil

Hmmmm… but things appear OK on the picture upload page…—Bil

Thanks for the report Bil. It all works fine with Safari and Firefox on a Mac. I’ll have a look on a Windows PC tomorrow. Are you using some flavour of linux? —tamc

I am using Linux(Fedora Core 3) and Firefox. Things fine now. I must have been refreshing while you were tweaking things. (You can delete all this discussion if you like.)—Bil
